COVID-19: In Absence Of 4G, Kashmir Students To Be Given Audio Classes Through Radio
The Education department is starting Educational Broadcast (audio classes) for students of Kashmir Division from next week.
Kashmir: As high-speed Internet continues to remain suspended in J&K, Directorate of School Education, Kashmir, has come up with a novel idea to help students. The Education department is starting Educational Broadcast (audio classes) for students of Kashmir Division from next week.
The broadcast is being organized in collaboration with All India Radio's Srinagar station and will enable students to learn through the medium of radio while sitting in their homes.
The idea behind the initiative is to engage the students and to reach out to them while they are confined to their homes due to nationwide lockdown announced in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, particularly in the areas which have low internet connectivity as well as low TV penetration.
Teachers will be delivering lessons as per the curriculum and the same will reach all students through radio. The lessons will be aired on All India Radio, Srinagar during day time for which the time slots have already been specified by the station.
Pertinently, the Directorate of School Education, Kashmir has already taken some initiatives in order to reach out to the students to help them to continue their studies while in lockdown.
DSEK has started teleclasses from 26th March 2020 through the Kashir channel of Doordarshan Kendra besides through local cable networks. In addition, it connected to a large number of students through its digital platform and video classes have been kept available for students on its YouTube channels.
