'Corruption, Nepotism, Appeasement': PM Modi Calls For Getting Rid Of 'Three Sins' In Attack On Oppn

PM Modi during his address to the nation, on the occasion of 77th Independence Day, took a dig at Dynasty politics and said that "They're 'Party Of, For And By Family.'"

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from Delhi's Red Fort on the occasion of the 77th Independence Day and took a dig at the Dynasty politics. He promised to fight three evils that have affected the nation- 'Corruption', 'Dynasty politics', and 'Appeasement.'

While addressing the nation, he said, "We will have to look into the eyes of three evils and fight them head-on. The first evil, Corruption, has affected the nation significantly. My dear beloved family members, this is a commitment from Modi that I will continue to fight against Corruption. The second evil that has affected our nation is 'Parivarvad' (Dynasty politics). The way familism has our country in its clutches, it has taken away the rights of the citizens of this nation. The third evil that has stained the image of India is appeasement. We have to fight all three evils with all of our strength."

He launched an attack on political parties that are led by one family only and said, "Today, 'parivarvaad' and appeasement have destroyed our country. How can a political party have only one family in charge? For them, their life mantra is- party of the family, by the family and for the family."

He also compared India 25 years ago to now to prove the difference between the Congress government and the BJP government. He said, "When India is determined, it completes the work - our track record says that...For 25 years it was being discussed in the country that a New Parliament building will be built. Ye Modi hai, samay ke pehle Sansad banakar ke rakh diya. This is a Govt that works, that meets set goals. This is New India. This is an India that is full of self-confidence...Ye Bharat na rukta hai, na thakta hai, na haanfta hai aur na hi haarta hai."
