Congress Rejigs Party Structure In Several States After Losing Haryana, Drawing Blank In Delhi
Congress has reshuffled leadership, appointing new general secretaries and in-charges for various states, including Bihar, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha.
Amid the loss in Haryana and Delhi elections, the grand old party Congress has made reshuffle in the organization. Congress has entrusted major responsibilities to many senior and experienced leaders as new general secretaries and in-charges. Congress President Kharge has appointed new in-charges in a total of thirteen states and four union territories. The party has appointed new in-charges in 11 states including Bihar, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh.

Making a big reshuffle, former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has been appointed as the in-charge general secretary of Punjab, while Rajya Sabha MP Naseer Hussain has been appointed as the in-charge general secretary of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Former UP state Congress president Ajay Kumar Lallu has been given a place in the national team and made in-charge of Odisha.
As elections are going to be held in Bihar by the end of this year, Congress has appointed Krishna Alavaru as in-charge of Bihar, who was till now in-charge of Youth Congress. Senior Karnataka leader BK Hariprasad has been made in-charge of Haryana, and senior Rajasthan leader Harish Chaudhary has been made in-charge of Madhya Pradesh. Meenakshi Natarajan has been made in-charge of Telangana. Rajni Patil has been made in-charge of Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh. She has been given this responsibility in place of Rajiv Shukla. Congress has made K. Raju in-charge of Jharkhand.
MP Saptagiri Ulaka from Odisha has been made in-charge of Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim and Nagaland. Girish Chodankar has been made in-charge of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Congress relieved Rajiv Shukla, Mohan Prakash, Devendra Yadav, Ajay Kumar, Deepak Babaria and Bharat Singh Solanki from the responsibility of state in-charge. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday appointed former MLA Harshvardhan Sapkal as the President of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee.
As per the Congress' press release, other general secretaries and in-charges will continue to serve in their designated capacities.
