Veteran Congress Leader Motilal Vora Passes Away A Day After Celebrating His 93rd Birthday

Senior Congress leader Motilal Vora passed away at Fortis Escort Hospital on Monday.

New Delhi:  Senior Congress leader Motilal Vora Passed away on Monday. According to reports Vora was admitted to Fortis Escort hospital on Sunday night. Motilal Vora worked in the field of journalism for many years and later entered politics in 1968. He won the election from Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha in 1970 and was appointed as Deputy Chairman of Madhya Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation. Motilal Vora became a Cabinet Minister in 1983 and was also appointed as the Chairman of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee. On 13 February 1985, Vora was made the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. On 13 February 1988, Motilal Vora resigned as the Chief Minister and on 14 February 1988 took charge of the Ministry of Health, Family Welfare and Civil Aviation. Motilal Vora was elected to the Rajya Sabha in April 1988. Held the post of Governor of Uttar Pradesh from 26 May 1993 to 3 May 1996. Vora remained in controversy due to the National Herald case Significantly, Motilal Vora was also involved in the controversy over the property of the National Herald News Paper. A hearing is still going on in the court regarding this case. No decision has been made yet. Motilal Vora had an important position among the three organizations included in Associated Journals Limited, Young Indian, and All India Congress Committee. Motilal Vora became the Chairman and Managing Director of Associated Journals Limited on 22 March 2002. He has also previously served as the treasurer of the All India Congress Working Committee. In addition, Motilal Vora was a 12 percent shareholder and also a young Indian director.
