After UP textile minister's shameful rant of mocking man with disability, 'divyang' to meet CM Yogi

Uttar Pradesh: Even after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in his recent address ensured respect for every individual staying in the state, his own minister’s action has been a complete oxymoron. In a shocking incident, Yogi Cabinet’s textile minister Satyadev Pachauri insulted a specially-abled employee in his ministry. The incident took place in Lucknow’s Dilbag area when Pachauri had gone for an inspection in the ministry. The minister was tightening the noose around his officers in an informal meeting when he saw the specially-abled man. After this he started questioning the worker of what work he does and if he is working on a contractual basis. The worker who is working in the office since 1999, speaking to ABP News said "what the minister said is very wrong. I would meet CM Adityanath and narrate him my ordeal". After the worker told him he was hired for cleaning job, the mantri forgot all facets of humanity and turned towards his officer. He thereafter, lashed out at him for hiring someone who was ‘crippled’(loole langro ko kaam pe rakha hai). He also added saying, “how will a crippled person justify the work”. Pachauri also asked the worker of how much salary does he draw. Pachauri won the Assembly elections from Kanpur’s Govind Nagar seat. He is currently taking care of textile and rural development ministry. PM Modi gives special identity to specially-abled: Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi in one of his addresses encouraged the use of ‘divyang’ instead of ‘crippled’. This was done to give more power and respect the specially-abled of the country. Even last year PM Modi celebrated his birthday by distributing special equipments to people with disabilitiesat Navsari in Gujarat. The items distributed included wheelchairs, tricycles, hearing aids and special smartphones. The ball is now in CM yogi Adityanath’s court. It is to see if CM Adityanath would take any sort of action against his minister for his shameful rant.
