CHECK LIST: These Tech Firms, Startups, Mobile Apps Are Under China's Close Watch

As per the second part of Indian Express investigation, Zhenhua is keeping a close track on several payments app, e-commerce apps, supply chain & delivery apps, tech startups, traffic apps and venture capitalist firms of India.

New Delhi: A massive revelation has been made by an Indian daily on how China is snooping into Indian individuals, companies and mobile applications through big data for an alleged 'hybrid warfare'. After claiming that China is monitoring thousands of Indian personalities including present and former Prime Ministers, Chief Ministers and over 350 Parliamentarians, another report by Indian Express claims that Shenzen-based Chinese technology company Zhenhua is keeping a close watch on several Indian businesses including tech firms, startups and mobile applications. As per the second part of Indian Express investigation, Zhenhua is keeping a close track on several payments app, e-commerce apps, supply chain & delivery apps, tech startups, traffic apps and venture capitalist firms of India. The report claims that the Chinese company is snooping into Indian businesses by tracking the records of above mentioned mobile applications and companies based in India. It further revealed that the Overseas Key Individual DataBase (OKIDB), built by Chinese firm Zhenhua Data, has around 1,400 such entries including venture capitalist firms and others that covers a massive section of India's new economy. The Indian Express report says that the Chinese firm has targeted venture capitalists, technology officers, investors of some of India's well-known startups and e-commerce platforms and even some foreign investors based in India. It also highlighted the fact that the cluster created by the China-based tech giant Zhenhua, having links with the Chinese Communist Party, has over 10,000 Indian individuals and entities in its list. On Monday, the daily also shared a report which said that those being monitored by Zhenhua Data include Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind, CDS chief Bipin Rawat, Former Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi, Former PM Manmohan Singh, top bureaucrats, academicians, journalists and the list goes on and on...
