Chidambaram Feels 'Helpless' & 'Hurt' After Congress Workers Raise Slogans Outside Kapil Sibal's House

P Chidambaram, former home minister and one of the senior-most leaders in the Congress party has expressed his concern after a few of his own party workers raised slogans outside veteran leader Kapil Sibal's house. These party-workers had gathered outside Sibal's house after the former minister spoke out openly again the top brass of the Congress leadership.
P Chidambaram is not the first to speak out against the - as Ghulam Nabi Azad says - 'hooliganism' of the Congress party workers outside Sibal's house. Other leaders from the 'G-23' group (The group of leaders who wrote to Sonia Gandhi regarding sweeping changes in the party structure) of the Congress party, like Shashi Tharoor, Manish Tewari, Ghulam Nabi Azad, and others spoke out against the sloganeering outside Kapil Sibal's house.
Chidambaram wrote that he felt hurt looking at the visuals outside the veteran leader's house. "I feel helpless when we cannot start meaningful conversations within party forums," Chidambaram wrote on Twitter.

I also feel hurt and helpless when I see pictures of Congress workers raising slogans outside the residence of a colleague and MP.
The safe harbour to which one can withdraw seems to be silence.

Sibal had pointed out that many of the Congress party's "yes men" had left the party while others have stayed, even in crisis. "We (leaders of G-23) are not the ones who will leave the party & go anywhere else. It is ironic. Those who were close to them (party leadership) have left & those whom they don't consider to be close to them are still standing with them," he told ANI.

Ghulam Nabi Azad, the former leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha, who has been speaking against the top brass of the Congress party also wrote against the protests outside Sibal's house. "He is a loyal congressman fighting for the party both inside and outside the Parliament. Any suggestion from any quarter should be welcomed instead of suppressing, hooliganism is unacceptable," he said.
