Char Dham Yatra: Government To Adopt New Verification System That Will Include QR Code For Yatris

The decision has been taken considering people had to stand in long queues for several hours for their verification.

In view of the upcoming Chardham Yatra, the Uttarakhand government has come up with a new verification system for the yatris. The new system will involve a copy of physical verification of devotees, a QR code and a wrist band. The decision has been taken considering people had to stand in long queues for several hours for their verification.

Passenger wrist band, a copy of physical registration will be deemed valid and a pilgrim’s registration will be verified by scanning the QR code on mobile, reported ANI.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday said that the state government is well prepared to make the Chardham Yatra a pleasant experience for the devotees.

"All the preparations for Char Dham Yatra have been completed. More than 12 lakh people have registered, and we have made all arrangements to ensure that everyone's journey is smooth," said the Chief Minister to ANI.

"The date of opening of the doors is near. On April 27, the doors of Lord Badri Vishal will be opened for devotees. Therefore, various works should be expedited. The devotees should not face any kind of inconvenience due to the construction works," said Ajendra Ajay, according to ANI.

The Char Dham Yatra is a tour of four holy sites - Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri in the Himalayan state of Uttarakhand.

The doors of Kedarnath Dham will open on April 25 and Badrinath Dham on April 27.
