Chandrayaan 2: 'We Are Proud Of ISRO' Political Leaders Extend Support; Check Top Reactions

New Delhi: As the communication from Chandrayaan 2's Vikram lander to Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) ground centre was lost just 2.1 kms above the moon's lunar surface last night, leaders from different political parties showered praises for the mission and congratulated the brave team of scientists for their achievements so far. As the powered descent of the lander began at around 1.38 am, scientists at Isro Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) were glued to their terminals, anticipating the soft landing. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned and soon after a successful rough braking phase, the lander lost contact making the environment tensed and anxious. Isro Chairman K Sivan was seen engaged in intense discussions with some scientists. A post landing press conference was called off by the ISRO officials and PM Modi, who was present at the Bengaluru control centre to watch the landing live spoke to the scientists and later in a a tweet consoled them and said “Nation is proud of you.” Here's how leaders from different political parties reacted to the development: Not just politicians and Indian citizen felt proud and looked up to these brave scientists, but praises from across the world came for ISRO's attempt and the feat it has achieved.
