New Delhi: The Prime Minister’s office has expressed its displeasure over non-arrest of Punjab National Bank fraud accused Mehul Choksi, and has urged the Antigua government to take him under arrest. The pressure is being built on Cental Bureau of Investigation, which is further building a pressure on Antigua government; where Choksi fled after ‘buying-out’ its citizenship. CBI has asserted to Antigua government that a Red Corner Notice is no longer required in the case since it is required only for tracing a location of an accused. The agency further urged that the location and new citizenship of Choksi is now known; therefore the procedure of his arrest and thereafter extradition should be initiated. All these demands have been put forth in a letter sent by CBI via External Affairs Ministry to Antigua government. The Antigua government had earlier raised questions over non-issue of a red corner notice against Choksi so far.
