New Delhi: The Opposition MPs held protests at the Gandhi statue on Parliament premises demanding a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) or Supreme Court-monitored probe into the  Adani-Hindenburg Research issue. Opposition parties have decided that they will ask for adjournment motion in both Houses of Parliament, no business other than Adani scam, news agency ANI reported citing sources.

Speaking on the matter, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said, "We demand discussion on our notices (in Parliament), we're ready for a detailed discussion. We want it to be taken up first. Ready to speak on President's Address & we give it its due importance. But first priority is that PM Modi give a reply on this issue,"

"Government want this matter to not be raised, not to be discussed. They want to avoid it somehow and do not want to bring it to record," he added, as quoted by ANI.

Congress MP Dr. Syed Naseer Hussain on Monday gave a Suspension of Business Notice Under rule 267 in RS to discuss "the issue of frauds in investment by LIC, SBI, Public Sector Banks & other financial institutions losing market value, endangering the hard-earned savings of crores of Indians.

Speaking to ABP News, National President, Indian Youth Congress Srinivas BV said, “ 'Adani scandal is the biggest scam of independent India. Why the government is silent on the matter.”

"Neither Prime Minister Narendra Modi is saying anything, nor Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. It's been 10 days and nobody is raising their voice," he further said. He also said that the government should come ahead and answer all the questions. Till the time this does not happen, we will continue fighting.
