BSP Suspends MP Danish Ali For Indulging In 'Anti-Party Activities'

The BSP suspended Amroha MP Danish Ali from the party for alleged anti-party activities stating that he was verbally instructed multiple times to not indulge in any statements or actions against the party.

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Saturday suspended its Member of Parliament, Danish Ali, for alleged anti-party activities. A statement from the party cited repeated violations of party policies, ideology, and discipline as the reason behind the move. The official party statement read, "You have been verbally instructed multiple times not to indulge in any statements or actions against the party's policies, ideology, and discipline. Despite these warnings, you persistently engage in activities against the party."

The statement also highlighted Danish Ali's previous association with the Janata Dal (Secular)

"Until 2018, you were working as a member of Shri Devegowda's Janata Dal (Secular). In the 2018 Karnataka elections, you actively participated in the alliance between the Bahujan Samaj Party and Janata Dal (Secular). After the election results, at Shri Devegowda's request, you were given a ticket from Amroha as a BSP candidate. Before granting you this ticket, Shri Devegowda assured you that, after receiving the BSP ticket, you would always adhere to the party's policies and directives, working in the party's best interest. You had also reiterated this assurance before him," the statement mentioned.

However, the party alleges that Ali has now forgotten these assurances and is involved in anti-party activities. "Following this assurance, you became a member of the BSP, contested elections from Amroha, won, and were sent to the Lok Sabha. However, you have now forgotten the assurances you gave and are involved in anti-party activities. Therefore, in the interest of the party, your membership with the Bahujan Samaj Party is immediately suspended," the BSP stated.

Danish Ali termed the party's decision as unfortunate emphasising that he was only opposing the BJP-led Union government's "anti-people" policies.

BJP MP Bidhuri Expresses Regret Over His Objectionable Remarks Against Danish Ali

In another political development, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ramesh Bidhuri expressed regret for his objectionable remarks against Danish Ali during a Lok Sabha Privileges Committee meeting. The committee heard both leaders separately, and Bidhuri conveyed his apology for the comments, news agency PTI reported. Bidhuri acknowledged that Union Minister Rajnath Singh had already expressed regrets in the House for the comments.

The controversy arose when Bidhuri used offensive language targeting Ali, who was accused by BJP leaders of making derogatory remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

With Bidhuri expressing regret before the committee, it is anticipated that the matter will be concluded, and the committee will submit its report to the Speaker. BJP president J.P. Nadda had issued a show-cause notice to Bidhuri, known for his fiery comments, as per PTI.

Both Ali and several opposition members had written to Speaker Om Birla seeking action against Bidhuri, while some BJP members accused Ali of making derogatory remarks against the prime minister.
