BRS Leaders KT Rama Rao, T Harish Rao Under 'House Arrest' In Telangana

The reported 'house arrest' of senior BRS leaders KT Rama Rao and T Harish Rao came after the BRS MLA P Kaushik Reddy was taken into custody on Monday.

Telangana police on Tuesday allegedly placed senior BRS leaders KT Rama Rao and T Harish Rao on house arrest at their residences in the state. The reported move came after the BRS MLA P Kaushik Reddy was taken into custody on Monday.

Kaushik Reddy, a BRS legislator from Huzurabad, was arrested for allegedly abusing a legislator Sanjay Kumar. The incident reportedly took place during a district review committee meeting on January 12 at Karimnagar.

Earlier, three cases were registered against BRS MLA P Kaushik Reddy following a heated altercation with Jagtial MLA Sanjay Kumar during a district review committee meeting in Karimnagar, police reported on Monday. Sanjay Kumar, who switched from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi to the ruling Congress in June 2024, lodged a formal complaint with Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker G. Prasad Kumar on the same day. In his complaint, Sanjay Kumar accused Kaushik Reddy, the BRS MLA from Huzurabad, of verbally abusing him during the meeting on Sunday.
