It was also attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and the BJP's National General Secretary (Organisation), BL Santosh. The party discussed he upcoming election for the BJP's National President. According to ANI, the announcement regarding the election could be made within a week.

"The election process for choosing the BJP's national president could begin any time after April 20," the party sources told ANI.

The election for the BJP National President, originally scheduled for January, remains pending even as April reaches its midpoint. According to the BJP constitution, the term of the National President is generally three years, elected through consensus within the party.

According to the new agency, the delay stems from the leadership's intent to carefully choose a successor capable of further strengthening the organisation. JP Nadda, who has held the position since January 2020, had his term extended beyond the customary three-year limit to facilitate a smooth transition and ensure adequate preparation for the party's next phase of leadership.
