BJP MP Appeals Bihar CM Nitish Kumar To Reopen Temples For Visits And Worship

"The month of Shravan is near. The general public wants the ban on visiting temples and worshipping to be removed," the MP said,

The process of Bihar Unlock-4 will begin tomorrow and as a part of the process, several exemptions have been given to the people of the state by the Nitish government. However, BJP representatives aren't satisfied with these exemptions.

A BJP MP has written a letter to CM Nitish Kumar, asking him to reconsider the guidelines. BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Thakur wrote to the Chief Minister requesting revoking the ban on visiting and worshipping in temples of Bihar. He also spoke to Bihar Chief Secretary Tripurari Sharan in this regard.

"The month of Shravan is near, and the general public wants the ban on visiting temples and worshipping to be revoked. The temple management committees must ensure that COVID-19 protocols are followed and that devotees are allowed inside one by one," he said in his letter.

The BJP MP said, "the devotees should be asked to leave the premises after a quick visit. The ban on elaborate rituals in the temple premises should continue so that there are no mass gatherings."

He said that Kashi Vishwanath Temple (Varanasi), Vindhyavasini Temple (Vindhyachal), Mahakaleshwar Temple (Ujjain), and Omkareshwar Temple are some of the examples of places of worship that have been reopened already. It is a request that in view of this prevailing sentiment, these points should be reconsidered by Bihar CM.

Vivek Thakur also wrote in the letter that during the recent tour of various districts under the 'Coronavirus Vaccination Awareness Campaign' there is a constant demand for the vaccine. In his letter, he mentioned, that the Coronavirus cases are now under control and the vaccination process started in villages as well but it needs to be accelerated. He also said that the campaign is on the right track though.
