WATCH | Bizarre Attempt To Tackle Covid-19; ‘Maskless’ MP Minister Performs Puja To Defeat Virus

The video of Thakur performing ‘puja’ before Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar’s idol at the Indore Airport campus has gone viral on social media. Surrounded by four people, the minister can be seen clapping and singing while performing the puja to get rid of the virus.

Indore: In what may embarrass Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led government which has been making relentless efforts to tackle the meteoric rise in Covid-19 cases, state’s Tourism Minister Usha Thakur was seen seeking divine intervention, without wearing a mask, at the Indore Airport campus to defeat the pandemic.

She had earlier courted controversy stating those leading vedic lifestyle don’t have much to fear from Covid-19.

Meanwhile, the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister has ruled out the possibility of a lockdown in the state while categorically stating this is not the solution to end Covid-19. Instead of a lockdown.

He, however, added that a curfew has been imposed in view of the surge in cases.

Madhya Pradesh has registered over 4,900 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the tally over 3,32,000.
