Bihar Weather Alert: Rains In June Break 20-Year Old Record, Light Rains Expected Today

From June 1 to June 28, Bihar has received 327.6 mm of rainfall. Meteorologist Sanjay Kumar said that Patna received the highest rainfall in June this year after 2000.

Patna: The rains in Bihar in June this year have broken all the previous records. From June 1 to June 28, Bihar has received 327.6 mm of rainfall, while the normal rainfall during this period should be 143.9 mm. According to Patna Meteorological Center's meteorologist Sanjay Kumar, the monsoon has not progressed in the Northwestern part of India for 1 week, though the current is relatively strong in the eastern part of the country.

Heavy rain is predicted on Thursday and Friday

Meteorologist Sanjay Kumar said that Patna received the highest rainfall in June this year after 2000. Due to dry westerly winds, the intensity of rain in Bihar reduced on Monday. However, there is a possibility of light rain in the state on Tuesday. Heavy rain may occur on Thursday and Friday.

Cloud cover will continue to prevail in many states

At the same time, the Indian Meteorological Department has predicted a cloudy sky in eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh during the next 5 days. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert with lightning in Bihar on Tuesday and Wednesday. For Thursday and Friday, it has been extended to Orange Alert.

Let us tell you that 2 days ago, an alert was issued for many areas by the department regarding heavy thunderstorms. The alert was issued for Danapur, Maner, Phulwari Sharif, and Patna Sadar blocks of Patna. Apart from this, an alert was also issued in Gopalganj, Siwan, and Chapra.
