RJD MLAs Authorise Lalu Yadav To Take All Decision Amid Bihar Political Crisis, Here's What Leaders Said

The RJD, holds 79 MLAs, is the single largest party in the assembly and plays a central role in the 'Mahagathbandhan,' which includes the Congress and three Left parties.

On Saturday, leaders of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in Bihar agreed that the party will follow its President Lalu Prasad Yadav's decisions amid growing concerns that the Janata Dal (United) led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar could sever ties to go back to form an alliance with the BJP to form the government. According to the PTI, the announcement was made by RJD national spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha following a party meeting held at the residence of Lalu Prasad's wife, Rabri Devi.

Jha, addressing the media, urged against further inquiries and commended Tejashwi Yadav, the Deputy Chief Minister and Lalu Prasad's son, for his management of the health sector.

The party meeting was attended by all senior leaders, including members of the state legislature. The RJD, holding 79 MLAs, is the single largest party in the assembly and plays a central role in the 'Mahagathbandhan,' which includes the Congress and three Left parties.

Speaking to news agency ANI, RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha said, "A positive meeting was held. Discussion on several things was done. All the issues whether from the national or state level, everything were discussed during the meeting. It was a legislature meeting, Lalu Yadav, Dy CM (Tejashwi Yadav) all MLAs, everyone was present. We all have authorised Lalu Yadav to take the decision."

“I don't know what is happening. There is no official information or statement that has come from anyone. But all I could say is whenever our party comes to power, it works for Bihar and will continue to do so,” said Rashtriya Janata Dal MP Misa Bharti, the daughter of Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Meanwhile, RJD MLA Ritlal Yadav claimed that the preparations for the Lok Sabha elections were discussed and said, "We will win all 40 Lok Sabha seats."

The 'Mahagathbandhan' currently falls eight members short of a majority in the assembly if JD(U), led by Nitish Kumar, were to withdraw its support. The alliance's stability has been under scrutiny, with strong indications suggesting that Kumar may execute yet another political shift and rejoin the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

The rumours were further fuelled as Sushil Kumar Modi, the leader of the BJP and a former deputy chief minister, made the cryptic comment, "No door is closed in politics, If necessary, the door can be opened" amid the reports of another 'flip-flop' by Nitish Kumar.
