Bihar Assembly Elections 2020: JD-U, RJD Release First List Of Candidates; BJP, Congress Yet To Make Announcement
Bihar Election Candidates: The ruling JD-U has announced 25 names in its first list of candidates while the RJD on the other hand released a list of 15 candidates
With just few days left for the Bihar Assembly Elections, the Janata Dal -United (JD-U) and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) released the first list of names of their candidates on Monday (October 5). The ruling JD-U has announced 25 names and has allotted seats to Kaushal Kumar for Nawada, Jai Kumar Singh for Dinara, Sudarshan for Barbigha, Rajiv Lochan for Mokama, Damodar Rawat for Jhajha and others.
RJD on the other hand released a list of 15 candidates. Following its dynastic principle of giving tickets to second generation leaders, RJD has given a ticketa to Rahul Tiwari, son of party veteran Shivanand Tiwary for Shahpur seat; and Sudhakar Singh, son of RJD state president Jagadanand Singh for the Ramgarh seat.
Savitri Devi from Chakai, Suday Yadav from Jahanabad, Ram Vishun Singh from Jagdishpur, Vijay Samrat from Shekhpura, Vijay Prakash from Jamui are the other candidates mentioned in the first list of the RJD.
The first of the three phase polling in Bihar is to be held on October 28. The polling for the second and the third phase will be conducted on November 3 and 7 while the results are expected to be out on November 10. Of the total 243 constituencies, 71 will go to the polls in the first phase.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party concluded its Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting late on Sunday evening and reportedly decided the names of at least 50 candidates who will contest elections in Bihar. The party is expected to announce the list of its candidates sometime on Monday.
