Big relief for Karan Johar: 'Meeting with Maha CM Fadnavis on 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' was positive' says Mukesh Bhatt

New Delhi: Big relief for Karan Johar, as after a lot of hustle, the film producer has finally received a nod from MNS and can release his movie ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, which was surrounded with controversies post Uri attacks as it starred Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. MNS in a press briefing put forth 3 conditions on the release of the movie:

• Producers who have signed Pakistani actors will have to pay Rs. 5 crore as 'penance' for army welfare
• Put special mention, before the movie paying homage to martyrs in the film
• Assurance of not working with Pakistani artists in the future

Producers Guild President Mukesh Bhatt on Saturday met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and came out with positive news. Bhatt, while interacting with media post his meet said, “Meeting with Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis on 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' was positive”. Mukesh Bhatt also assured that Karan Johar will put special mention paying homage to martyrs in his film 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. “I assured Mr.Fadnavis that the Producer's Guild has decided that we will not work with Pakistani artists in the future”, said Bhatt. Though there has been no formal statement from MNS so far. Police on Wednesday took strict action against MNS workers for protesting and raising slogans outside Metro Cinema in South Mumbai. 12 activists of MNS who had gone to Metro theatre to threaten them were arrested and sent in judicial custody till November 4. Meanwhile, continuing with their agitation, MNS shifted the scene to Maharashtra's Nagpur city where some party workers this afternoon demonstrated in front of a cinema hall at the main business locality in Sitabuldi against the release of "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil". They later submitted a memorandum to the manager of the cinema hall not to screen the film. Seeking to calm tempers over opposition to the release of his directorial venture, Johar had earlier made a fervent appeal against stalling the release, saying he will not engage with talent from Pakistan in future. The MNS and some other political parties have opposed the release of films with actors from Pakistan after the Uri terror attack, putting a question mark on the fate of Johar's movie, slated for release on October 28. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma in lead roles.
