The Mumbai Police traffic control room received a threat message claiming that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are on target, as reported by ANI on Tuesday. The accused also threatened to be ready for a 26/11 like terrorist attack. A case under section 509 (2) of the IPC has been registered against unknown, said the Mumbai Police.

In another incident, police had detained a 45-year-old man from Gorakhpur last week for allegedly issuing a threat to kill PM Modi and Yogi Adityanath over the UP-112 helpline number. The accused was identified as Sanjay Kumar. According to Deoria Kotwali Station House Officer (SHO) D K Mishra, the call was received late on Sunday night and the caller introduced himself as Arun Kumar, a resident of the Bhujauli Colony of the city, as reported by PTI.

Police traced the location of the mobile phone from which the call was made to Devrad village of Harpur Budhat in Gorakhpur district, which led them to Sanjay Kumar who was apprehended on Monday morning, the SHO said. An initial inquiry revealed that the accused was in an inebriated condition when he placed the call to the helpline, police said, as reported by PTI.

Earlier in April, a case was registered against an unidentified person in Lucknow after a death threat was received for Yogi Adityanath, the police said, as reported by ANI. According to the news agency, the threat was received via message on 'Dial 112' (a number launched by the Uttar Pradesh government for the emergency services), in which the person stated, "I will kill CM Yogi soon".

After receiving the threat, the Operation Commander of '112' filed a case in the police station Sushant Golf City. A case has been registered under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 506, 507 and IT Act 66, ANI reported.
