Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Gets Z+ Category Security Cover Throughout India

The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma's security has been upgraded by the Central Government from Z level CRPF (Northeast region) to Z+ level (All India region) now.

Assam: The central government has upgraded the security cover of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to the Z+ category throughout India from the earlier Z category.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Himanta Biswa Sarma's security arrangements were reviewed "in consultation with the Central Security Agency." The statement as reported by news agency PTI, said, "It has been decided to upgrade his present 'Z' category CRPF security cover in the North East region to Z+ category on an all-India basis."

The ministry has further asked the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the largest Central Armed Police Force in the nation, to take the necessary measures.

Warning Given To The CM In The Past

The Chief Minister had earlier received a 'threatening message' pertaining to disgruntled TET-cleared candidates who were waiting for jobs. The message reportedly said, "Give us jobs or shoot us dead. The consequence of giving us false hope will be very dangerous.”

Z+ Security

VIP security is covered in several categories, such as X, Y, Y+, Z, and Z+. The current Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, has the highest level of security protection, which is the Special Protection Group (SPG).

Z+ security is the second highest degree of security. The 55-personnel group, which includes 10 or more NSG commandos and police officers, is safeguarded by this security covering.

BJP President, Amit Shah, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, and other dignitaries have all received this security protection.
