‘Will States Be left On Their Own If Pak Attacks India’: Kejriwal Slams Modi Govt On Vaccine Shortage
“This is the time to unite and work for both state and Centre, and not work separately. We need to work as Team India,” Kejriwal said.
New Delhi: Asserting the country is at war against Covid-19, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday launched a vitriolic attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government over vaccine shortage in the country and asked whether the states will be left on their own if Pakistan attacks India.
Addressing the media here, Kejriwal said this is the time to unite and work as Team India.
“This is the time to unite and work for both state and Centre, and not work separately. We need to work as Team India. It is the Centre’s responsibility to provide vaccine, not states. If we delay it more, don’t know how many more lives will be lost,” Kejriwal said.
“Why isn’t this country buying vaccines? We can’t leave it on states. Our country is at war against Covid-19. If Pakistan attacks India, will we leave states on their own? Will UP buy its own tanks or Delhi its own arms?” he asked while firing a salvo at the Centre on shortage of vaccines in the country.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief expressed regret over the country, including the national capital, facing vaccine shortage amid the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“There is no vaccine in Delhi. For four days, the vaccination centres for the 18-44 age group are shut and not just here but across India, several centres are shut. Today when we should have opened new centres but now we are also shutting the existing ones, which is not good,” he said.
Delhi reported 1,491 new positive cases, 3,952 recoveries and 130 fatalities in the last 24 hours.
The Covid-19 positivity rate has reduced in Delhi and now stands at 1.93 percent. The national capital has 14,21,477 total positive cases while there are 19,148 active cases.
