Jaitley lashes out at opposition, calls TMC’s Mahagatbandhan rally “sham unity arithmetic”

Jaitley slammed the Opposition for their ‘negative anti-Modi agenda’ in his latest blog on a leading social media platform. The Finance Minister ruled out anti-incumbency claims made by the opposition, saying that “the level of satisfaction with Pradhan Mantri Narendra Modi is very high.”

New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley hit out at the opposition via his latest blog on Monday, dubbing the high pitched political battle of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as ‘Modi vs Chaos,’. Jaitley slammed the Opposition  for their ‘negative anti-Modi agenda’ in his latest blog on a leading social media platform. The Finance Minister ruled out anti-incumbency claims made by the opposition, saying that “the level of satisfaction with Pradhan Mantri Narendra Modi is very high.” Focusing on the United India rally, Jaitley hit out at the Opposition’s “sham unity arithmetic.” Jaitley highlighted the fact that “Rahul Gandhi, Mayawati and KCR did not have significant presence in Kolkata.” “2/3rd of those on stage were those who in the past have worked with the BJP. Some octogenarians reached Kolkata to satisfy their late-life ambitions. There was not a single speech reflecting the positive idea which the leaders proposed for the future. Negativism was writ large in their approach. The strategy of each of the four contenders is clear,” Jaitley wrote. According to the Finance Minister, the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ won’t work because, “if arithmetic is the only hope, the Modi chemistry can prevail over it.” “People want a Five Year Government, not a six month one,” he added.
