After Twitter, Rahul Gandhi's Facebook & Instagram Accounts To Be Locked?

Twitter has locked account of Rahul Gandhi and several other senior Congress leaders.

New Delhi: There has been a ruckus after the Twitter account of former Congress President Rahul Gandhi was locked out. Now the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has also demanded action on Rahul Gandhi's Facebook and Instagram accounts.

According to sources, the commission has written to Facebook and Instagram saying Rahul Gandhi violated the POCSO Act by revealing the identity of the rape victim's parents. Therefore, action should be taken against him.

Twitter has already locked Rahul Gandhi's handle due to the complaint raised. Apart from Rahul Gandhi, 20 Congress leaders and 7 Twitter handles of the party have also been locked.

Twitter Took Action On NCPCR's Complaint

Rahul had met family members of the minor, who was allegedly raped in the national capital, murdered, and cremated at the Old Nangal crematorium without the consent of her parents.

The BJP alleged that Gandhi had revealed the identity of the victim's family, which is illegal. Gandhi's Twitter account was temporarily locked out following a complaint by NCPCR.

Rahul Gandhi has alleged that Twitter is biased, interfering in India's political process, and running as per the government's instructions. He also claimed that what has been done by Twitter is an attack on India's democratic structure.
