Indian Army Asks Pakistan To Take Back Bodies Of Infiltrators Killed, Islamabad Responds
The Indian Army on Sunday offered the Pakistan Army to take back the dead bodies of intruders killed during a failed infiltration bid by Pakistan's Border Action Team (BAT) on a forward post.
New Delhi: The Indian Army on Sunday offered the Pakistan Army to take back the dead bodies of intruders killed during a failed infiltration bid by Pakistan's Border Action Team (BAT) on a forward post along the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The Pakistan Army has been offered to approach with a white flag and take over the dead bodies for the last rites. Meanwhile, the neighboring country is yet to respond. "We have offered Pakistan Army to take over the dead bodies (of 5-7 Pak BAT army regulars/terrorists). Pakistan Army has been offered to approach with a white flag and take over the dead bodies for last rites, they are yet to respond," Indian Army said.
The Pakistan Army, however, denied the Indian claim about action by Pakistani army regulars and militants across the Line of Control and that their bodies were lying on the Indian side. Pakistan Army spokesman Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor on Saturday night denied the Indian claim as "mere propaganda" and said that India was "trying to divert attention of the world form the situation of Kashmir."
Similarly, the Foreign Office also issued a statement at about mid-night to reject the claims by India. "We reject Indian allegations of cross-LOC action by Pakistan and possession of bodies," FO said.
The Indian Army on Saturday claimed that it has foiled an attempt by Pakistan's BAT to carry out a strike in Keran sector on LoC. India produced photographs of dead bodies lying amid foliage apparently in the Keran Sector. Army sources said heavy casualties were inflicted on the BAT and assessed that four possible Special Services Group (SSG)A commandos were killed as the bodies were spotted close to the post on LoC where the action took place. Army officials said over the past three days, Pakistan has launched a number of attempts to disturb peace in the Valley and target the Amarnath Yatra. Keeping citizens security in mind, Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday had issued a security advisory for tourists and Amarnath pilgrims urging them to curtail their stay in the Valley immediately.Indian Army: Have offered Pakistan Army to take over the dead bodies(of 5-7 Pak BAT army regulars/terrorists).
