Anurag Thakur took a swipe at Arvind Kejriwal and said that for the first time in 75 years, those who used to talk about agitation against corruption are seen drowning in the quagmire of corruption.

Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Saturday took a swipe at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and said that for the first time in 75 years, those who used to talk about agitation against corruption are seen drowning in the quagmire of corruption.  Reacting to CBI summon to Kejriwal, Thakur said that the Investigating agencies are doing their job.

"This has happened for the first time in 75 years that those who used to talk about agitation against corruption are seen drowning in the quagmire of corruption. Arvind Kejriwal's ministers went to jail and they are sharing knowledge to the world. Investigating agencies doing their job," Anurag Thakur said as quoted by the news agency ANI.

The CBI will question Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the now-withdrawn liquor policy case on April 16. Kejriwal has been summoned by the CBI at 11 am on Sunday at the agency's headquarters in Delhi.

AAP leader and former Delhi deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has already been arrested by the CBI in the case. Sisodia has also been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering related to the alleged excise scam. The excise policy 2021-22 was scrapped in August last year and the Delhi L-G later asked the CBI to probe alleged irregularities.

The CBI has alleged that the Delhi government's excise policy for 2021-22 to grant licences to liquor traders favoured certain dealers who had allegedly paid bribes for it, an accusation strongly refuted by the AAP. The policy was later scrapped.

'Rahul Gandhi Apologised In Writing To SC In 2018. Today They Say 'Gandhi Does Not Apologise': Anurag Thakur

Anurag Thakur attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and said, "I want to tell the nation that this is not the first time that the members of a family have been punished. Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi are out on bail in a corruption case linked to National Herald and besides that, Rahul Gandhi is out on bail in seven cases such cases that are linked to defamation and corruption," as quoted by the news agency ANI.

Talking about the defamation case on Rahul Gandhi over the "Modi surname" remark, Thakur said, “In this case, which  went on in the court for three years, Rahul Gandhi did not apologise to the people belonging to backward class and showed his ego. Supreme Court had warned him in 2018 and he apologised in writing".
