Anti-CAA Stir: Ten People With Criminal Background Arrested For Jamia Violence; None Students
Ten people with criminal antecendets were arrsted by Delhi police in connection with violence in Jamia on Sunday during protests against the Citizenship Act.
None of those arrested are students of the Jamia Millia Islamia university

New Delhi: Ten people with criminal background have been arrested by the Delhi Police in connection with the violence during protests against the Citizenship Act in Jamia on Sunday. Those arrested do not include any students of the Jamia Millia Islamia University.
The accused were arrested on Monday night, police said.
Delhi Police registered two separate cases against unknown people for arson and rioting on Monday.
The university had turned into a battlefield on Sunday as police entered the campus and also used force, following protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act, which led to violence and arson in which four DTC buses, 100 private vehicles and 10 police bikes were damaged. Nearly 60 people including students, police and fire fighters were injured in the clash.

The force, thereafter, used batons and teargas shells to disperse the violent mob and entered the Jamia university campus.
A rigorous interrogation of the accused in underway and a criminal conspiracy is suspected by the police, behind the Sunday violence, sources have said.
Some big political names can surface in connection with the incident, after the interrogation is completed, they said.
Police also suspects some Whatsapp groups to be involved in conspiracy of violence, sources said.
The accused will be presented in court on Tuesday.
A senior police official also said raids are being carried out in various parts of Delhi's south east districts to nab those who indulged in violence during protests.
Jamia authorities and students claimed they had nothing to do with the violence and arson during the protest and alleged that "certain elements" had joined in and disrupted the peaceful march.
