Man Loses Savings Amounting Rs 5 Lakh As Termites Eat Up Currency Notes In Trunk

In Andhra Pradesh, a man's saving turned to nothing as termites converted his earnings to useless pieces of paper. Know all about it.

According to a report by India Today, Bijli Jamalayya, who is a resident of Milavaram, was in utter disbelief when he saw his money in a damaged state having been chatted by termites.

He is involved in the trade of pigs where he relies on cash transactions. Instead of depositing his money in the bank, he chose to keep it safe in the trunk at home.

However, in a cruel turn of events, the money that he had been stacking to be able to fulfill his dream of building a house for himself was not as safe he thought it would be. The trunk where he kept money was infested by termites and they turned the money into useless pieces of paper.

Large holes could be seen on the bundles of Rs 500 and 200.

The incident came to light as locals found children in the area with a lot of damaged currency notes, Jamalayya had given them away to children playing on the streets.
