Amritpal Singh's Wife Stopped At Amritsar Airport While Trying To Board London Flight

Fugitive radical leader Amritpal Singh's wife was stopped at the Amritsar airport while she trying to board a London flight.

'Waris Punjab De' chief Amritpal Singh's wife Kirandeep Kaur has been stopped by Punjab Police from Shri Guru Ram Dass International Airport, Amritsar as she was trying to board a flight to London, police sources said. Amritpal's wife was about to leave for London on the afternoon flight.  She reached the airport to board a flight from Amritsar to Birmingham.

Amritpal Singh's wife Kirandeep Kaur was supposed to travel to Birmingham but she reported to the immigration counters and being a Look Out Circular (LOC) subject the immigration has not permitted her to travel and detained her, Airport sources said.

A few months ago, Amritpal married Punjab-origin Kirandeep Kaur living in the UK, since then both were living in Jallupur Kheda which is Amritpal's village. Currently, she is reportedly being questioned by the Immigration Department.

The main aide of pro-Khalistan leader and Waris De Punjab chief Amritpal Singh was arrested in Sirhind on April 15. According to Narinder Bhargav, DIG Border Range, the aide, Joga Singh, was apprehended in a joint operation of Amritsar-rural and Hoshiarpur police. Joga Singh was with Amritpal from March 18 to March 28, news agency ANI reported.

"Joga Singh was in direct contact with Amritpal Singh. He arranged shelter and vehicles for Amritpal Singh. He arranged for him to stay in Pilibhit and then return to Punjab," said Deputy Inspector General (Border Range) Narinder Bhargav.

Before this, two men were arrested for allegedly harbouring Amritpal Singh. According to the police, the arrested men are Rajdeep Singh of Babak village in Hoshiarpur district and Sarbjit Singh of Jalandhar district. On Friday night, Rajdeep Singh and Sarbjit Singh were both brought before the duty magistrate and placed on one-day police remand.

Last month, the police launched a major crackdown on Amritpal Singh and members of his 'Waris Punjab De' outfit. On March 18, the radical Sikh preacher eluded the police by switching vehicles and changing his appearance, and he is still at large.
