Punjab Police Files Another FIR Against Amritpal Singh For Threatening, Snatching Clothes From Man At Gunpoint

The Granthi of a Gurdwara in Jalandhar alleged that Amritpal Singh held him at gunpoint and fled with his son's clothes. This brings the total number of cases against Amritpal Singh to seven.

The Punjab Police has registered another First Information Report (FIR) against Amritpal Singh, the fugitive chief of Waris Punjab De and a Khalistani sympathiser. The case was filed against him on the complaint of the Granthi of a Gurdwara in the Nangal Ambian village of Jalandhar. The statement of the Granthi's wife was recorded in connection to the matter. The complainant alleged that Amritpal Singh held him at gunpoint and fled with his son's clothes. This brings the total number of cases against Amritpal Singh to seven.

The incident occurred on February 18 when Amritpal Singh went to the Gurdwara in Nangal Ambian. According to Inspector General of Police (Headquarters) Sukhchain Singh Gill, Amritpal changed his clothes, put on a shirt and trousers, and fled with three others on two bikes. The police have since arrested Manpreet Singh, Gurdeep Singh, Harpreet Singh, and Gurbej Singh, who assisted his escape.

The Jalandhar police have recovered the bike on which Amritpal Singh had fled. A picture of him in a disguise has come to the fore. The photo shows Amritpal on the bike riding pillion, wearing a pink turban, white jacket, and black glasses. Police recovered the bike on Wednesday.

In their pursuit of Amritpal Singh, officers of the Punjab Police raided his house in Jallukheda village of Amritsar on Wednesday. The police also took action against the supporters of Amritpal Singh in Bathinda district, where 70 people were arrested and sent to jail. ADGP Surinder Pal Singh Parmar said that the situation is peaceful, with flag marches being carried out to instil confidence in the people.

The police have filed cases against Amritpal Singh for various offences, including threat, assault, and robbery. The authorities have promised to bring him to justice and have requested the public's cooperation in their efforts to apprehend him.
