Amritpal Singh Addresses Gathering In Moga Gurdwara Before Arrest: Watch

Fugitive Amritpal Singh, who was arrested in Punjab's Moga addressed a gathering in a Gurdwara in the city before he was held by the Punjab police. Earlier visuals of Waris Punjab De's Amritpal Singh at Gurudwara in Moga, Punjab. He was arrested by Punjab Police from Moga this morning and is likely to be shifted to Dibrugarh, Assam.

According to sources, the Punjab Police was making plans for his detainment since late last night. A video surfaced that showed him addressing a gathering in a gurudwara before surrendering in Moga's Rode village. The Khalistan sympathiser was arrested by Punjab Police near a Gurdwara in Moga amid the mounting pressure put up by Punjab Police for the same.

This comes after Amritpal Singh's wife Kirandeep Kaur was stopped by Punjab Police from Shri Guru Ram Dass International Airport, Amritsar as she was trying to board a flight to London, police sources said. Amritpal's wife was about to leave for London on the afternoon flight.  She reached the airport to board a flight from Amritsar to Birmingham.

Amritpal Singh's wife Kirandeep Kaur was supposed to travel to Birmingham but she reported to the immigration counters and being a Look Out Circular (LOC) subject the immigration has not permitted her to travel and detained her, Airport sources said. A few months ago, Amritpal married Punjab-origin Kirandeep Kaur living in the UK, since then both were living in Jallupur Kheda which is Amritpal's village. Currently, she is reportedly being questioned by the Immigration Department.

The main aide of pro-Khalistan leader and Waris De Punjab chief Amritpal Singh was arrested in Sirhind on April 15. According to Narinder Bhargav, DIG Border Range, the aide, Joga Singh, was apprehended in a joint operation of Amritsar-rural and Hoshiarpur police. Joga Singh was with Amritpal from March 18 to March 28, news agency ANI reported. 

Last month, the police launched a major crackdown on Amritpal Singh and members of his 'Waris Punjab De' outfit. On March 18, the radical Sikh preacher eluded the police by switching vehicles and changing his appearance, and he is still at large.
