Amit Shah Approves Rs 1,554 Crore Aid For States Hit By Floods, Landslides & Storms
Union Minister Amit Shah, approved Rs 1554 crore in additional central assistance under the NDRF for five states - Andhra Pradesh, Nagaland, Odisha, Telangana & Tripura.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah led a High-Level Committee (HLC), during which he approved Rs 1554.99 crore in additional central assistance under the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) for five states.
These states were affected by floods, flash floods, landslides, and cyclonic storms in 2024.
According ANI, of the total amount of Rs 1554.99 crore, Rs 608.08 crore has been approved for Andhra Pradesh, Rs 170.99 crore for Nagaland, Rs 255.24 crore for Odisha, Rs 231.75 crore for Telangana and Rs 288.93 crore for Tripura.

On Tuesday, Shah met Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, who briefed him on the measures taken by the state government to ensure the success of the upcoming two-day mega Business Summit in Guwahati, aiming for strong participation from domestic and international stakeholders and significant investments in key sectors, according to ANI.
An official release stated that Shah praised Sarma for his efforts in making the Summit a success and expressed confidence that the event would attract significant investments while positioning Assam as a key driver of India's growth and a prime investment destination. The meeting lasted over 30 minutes
Late last month, Shah had a similar meeting after which approved Rs 3,027.86 crore for disaster mitigation projects across various states.
The committee, comprising Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and the Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog, reviewed proposals for mitigation projects on lightning safety in 50 high-risk districts across 10 states and catalytic assistance for 49 drought-prone districts in 12 states. These initiatives will be funded through the National Disaster Mitigation Fund (NDMF), according to an official statement.
