Allu Arjun Arrest: BRS, BJP Leaders Join Fans In Supporting 'Pushpa' Star; Slam Arrest After Stampede Death

Allu Arjun News: The Opposition slammed the Congress-led Telangana government for detaining Allu Arjun and argued that he was unfairly held accountable for the stampede.

Fans, well-wishers and family members of actor Allu Arjun gathered outside Chikkadpally police station hours after the actor was detained after questioning in connection with a stampede during the premiere of his movie Pushpa 2 at Sandhya theatre in Hyderabad on December 4. The incident led to the death of a woman and left her son seriously injured. On Friday, after the actor's arrest, political parties leaders from BJP and BRS came in support of him.

The Opposition slammed the Congress-led Telangana government for detaining Allu Arjun and argued that he was unfairly held accountable for the stampede.

BRS Party Working President KT Rama Rao tweeted, "Arrest of National Award winning star Allu Arjun is the pinnacle of insecurity of the rulers. I totally sympathize with the victims of the stampede but who failed really?  Treating Allu Arjun Garu as a common criminal is uncalled for especially for something he isn’t directly responsible."

BJP Floor Leader and Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh said, "The tragic stampede incident is a glaring failure of the police department, not the fault of National Award-winning star @alluarjun, who has brought immense pride to the Telugu states with his accolades and achievements."

"Holding him accountable for something he isn't directly responsible for is both unjust and unwarranted. Instead of addressing the systemic issues and lapses in crowd management, targeting a celebrated icon reflects poorly on the administration. The Congress government must introspect and ensure accountability lies where it truly belongs - with those responsible for maintaining public safety," he said.

Minister of State Bandi Sanjay Kumar said, "National Award-winning actor Allu Arjun, lifted straight from his bedroom without even being given time to change, is a disgraceful act of mismanagement and disrespect. A star of his stature, who brought global recognition to Indian cinema, deserved better treatment. The tragic death of a woman in the stampede at Sandhya theatre is deeply unfortunate, but it only underscores the Congress government’s failure to manage the massive crowd."

He also alleged that the real failure was the Congress government’s inability to ensure proper arrangements for such a high-profile event.

Meanwhile, a police vehicle with Allu Arjun arrived at Nampally court.
