AIIMS Delhi Server Data Restored After 8 Days, Online Services Yet To Begin

The hacking of server has disrupted the flow of patients at AIIMS. Online data of admitted patients has not been able to be uploaded which is delaying their discharge.

New Delhi: After the main server at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences was hacked eight days ago, the data has now been restored, but the online services are yet to start which has caused inconvenience to the patients.

Due to the technical glitch, patients coming to OPD are not being able to register online. Many patients could not be admitted to the hospital. The admitted patients are also facing difficulty in getting discharged from the hospital. Not only has the investigation been affected, but sample collection at the hospital has also become difficult.

Facing inconvenience, a huge crowd of patients gathered outside the OPD counter. Such patients who had registered online have also not been able to get the unique ID. Although the AIIMS administration said that even without a unique ID, doctors are treating the patients.

The glitch has disrupted the flow of patients at the institute. Online data of admitted patients has not been able to be uploaded which is delaying their discharge. This has paved problem for new patients to get admission.

Meanwhile,  the hospital administration said that data has been restored, and the National Informatics Centre is in the process of fixing the loopholes in the system.

For the last few years, AIIMS has had the facility of online registration for OPD. In such a situation, many patients register through this medium only, so that they do not have to go to the hospital and stand in line. Since the failure of the server, registration is also being done manually. This process is taking to generate OPD slip manually due to which the crowd in the hospital is also increasing.

We work as labourers. and our wages are getting affected. We are not getting the date for the appointment,” Poonam Devi, a patient at the hospital told ABP News.
