Krishnagiri: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami attacked AMMK leader TTV Dhinakaran over allegations of conspiring to break the ruling AIADMK. He expressed confidence that the worker-dominated party will remain united. ALSO READ | As Sasikala Returns To TN, TTV Dhinakaran Expresses Hope About Her Contesting Upcoming Election

AIADMK will never allow "one family to rule" the state, Palaniswami said as he talked about a conspiracy to wrest control of the party, also further stating that the efforts have to be thwarted by the alert ruling party workers.

Palaniswami was addressing an election rally at Krishnagiri when he added that AIADMK has a place only for those who are loyal and hardworking, even a worker with such qualities can become chief minister.

He hit at Dhinakaran, Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam leader and nephew of expelled AIADMK leader V K Sasikala, accusing him of trying to topple the government and break the party.

"When I became CM in 2017 we were giving good rule. Some then tried to wean away a few of our MLAs from us. You know who that conspirator is, who tried to topple this government, break the party by dividing 18 persons," he said.

In 2017, 18 AIADMK MLAs supporting Dhinakaran had rebelled against Palaniswami after he merged his faction with O Panneerselvam's. All efforts to destabilise the government were countered, the CM said.

"He has started again. You know who it is-- TTV Dhinakaran. He was not in the party for ten years as Amma had expelled him even from primary membership but somehow he came back. Today he is conspiring (against AIADMK)," Palaniswami alleged. AIADMK will never accept this, he added.

Earlier, TTV Dhinakaran was asked whether AMMK and AIADMK would join hands to keep DMK out of power. To this, he said, "as far as I am concerned, AMMK was started in March 2018 to retrieve AIADMK and give Amma's rule. I have been saying this ever since. Our aim is to retrieve the AIADMK and when that will happen is in people's hands. I am confident that will happen".

Palaniswami had then lashed out at Dhinakaran for his comment on 'retrieving' the AIADMK.

"Dhinakaran can never break the AIADMK, no matter how many avatars he takes. His dreams will not come true," the AIADMK leader emphasised. "The AIADMK is a party of workers. Only a worker can become chief minister," he said.

The AIADMK grew due to hard work of workers and it will "not bow" before "one family to rule" Tamil Nadu, he added.

Amid the incidents of politicians holding the 'Vel', the TN CM criticised parties for seeking votes on the basis of religion and caste stating that these were not considerations of the AIADMK.

"Amma government will ensure protection to people of any religion and the state has been a haven of peace," he said.
