Ahmed Patel appointed as new treasurer of Congress party, to replace senior leader Motilal Vora

As per reports, Anand Sharma will be the new chairman of the party's Foreign Cell.

 New Delhi: In a major switch of responsibilities within the Congress party, Ahmed Patel was appointed as the treasurer of Congress party on Tuesday replacing senior leader Motilal Vora. As per reports, Motilal Vora will be appointed as general secretary in-charge of administration. Anand Sharma will be the new chairman of the party's Foreign Cell. Citing sources ANI said that Ahmed Patel will be the new treasurer of Congress party, he will replace Motilal Vora. It added that Anand Sharma will be the new Chairman of Congress Foreign Cell. August 21 (today) is also the birthday of Patel who has turned 69 years old. Vora, a senior Congress leader had served as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh from 1985 to 1988 and then in the year 1989. He was holding the post of treasurer of All India Congress Committee for long. The change comes a month after Rahul Gandhi made some serious modifications in the Congress Working Committee by dropping some senior faces from it, which included Digvijaya Singh, Sushikumar Shinde and Janardhan Dwivedi.
