The meeting assumes significance as it took place days after a leadership change in Punjab.
Pilot had earlier last week met Gandhi amid the drama in the Congress’ Punjab unit.
The duo had, as per reports, also discussed the reshuffle in Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot-led government in the state.
Ajay Maken, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary in-charge of Rajasthan, has so far made multiple visits to the state and taken views of all the MLAs.
Pilot had repeatedly placed before the party high command the demand of a Cabinet reshuffle and inclusion of some MLAs loyal to him besides political appointments to various boards and corporations in Rajasthan.
The reshuffle, however, has not taken place despite Maken making multiple visits to the state.
The Cabinet expansion besides other important political appointments has been pending in Rajasthan for more than a year due to the tussle between the factions loyal to Gehlot and Pilot.
Pilot is said to have been given an assurance again that the reshuffle would take place soon, according to sources, ANI reported.
The Congress leaders in Rajasthan are expecting a decisive intervention by the central leadership as recently the grand old party had to witness the resignation of Captain Amarinder Singh as the Punjab chief minister.
