ABP Southern Rising Summit: Telangana CM Revanth Reddy To Speak On State's Rise Since 2014
The opening session of the second ABP Southern Rising Summit will see Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy talk about the rise of his state throughout the years.
ABP Network is set to host the second edition of the Southern Rising Summit 2024 on October 25 in Hyderabad, with Telangana's first Congress Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy opening the session. This year’s summit, themed 'Coming of Age: Identity, Inspiration, Impact', will feature leading voices in politics, culture, and industry from the South, who are changemakers, thought leaders, and visionaries. The Southern Rising Summit 2024 will celebrate South India’s remarkable journey and its role in driving political will, cultural innovation, and economic growth across India.
The first session, titled 'From Under the Shadow - Growing into Adulthood', will see Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy talk about the rise of India's youngest state through the years. Considered the architect of Congress's rise to power in Telangana, which was formed in 2014, Revanth Reddy will also talk about his party in the state.
The 2024 summit in Hyderabad — a city symbolising ambition and aspiration — will bring together key players in South India's transformative journey. The second edition of 'The Southern Rising Summit' promises to delve into the innovative governance models that have made South India a leader in education and healthcare, and explore how the region’s contributions to India's future continue to expand.
South India, home to nearly 20% of India's population, has long been at the forefront of the nation’s development. Contributing an impressive 31% to the country's GDP, this figure is expected to rise to 35% by 2030, highlighting the region's pivotal role in India’s economic landscape.
In recent years, a reassertion of regional identities, two newly elected state governments, and the emergence of a new political balance at the Centre have set the stage for a reinvigorated South India, which is continuing to set benchmarks in governance, social cohesion, and cultural dynamism.
The list of stalwart speakers this year includes Union Civil Aviation Minister Shri Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, Former All England Men Singles Champion and Padma Bhushan awardee Pullela Gopichand, director and screenwriter, Chidambaram S Poduval, and actors Gautami Tadimalla, Sai Durgha Tej and Raashii Khanna.
