ABP News-CVoter Survey: BJP In Driver’s Seat In UP, Projected To Win 212 To 224 Seats

New Delhi: As the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections draw closer, the high-voltage campaigning for the throne of Lucknow has picked up pace.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership looks comfortable to continue in power in the politically crucial state.
The BJP-led alliance, as per the ABP News-CVoter Opinion Poll conducted in December, is expected to win 212 to 224 seats in the 403-member Uttar Pradesh Assembly.
The Samajwadi Party under former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav’s leadership is expected to bag around 151 to 163 seats.
The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), under former CM Mayawati, is likely to get only 12 to 24 seats, the survey suggests.
The Congress, which is campaigning in the state under the leadership of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, looks set to be disappointed yet again with the survey suggesting only 2 to 10 seats for the grand old party. It won seven seats in 2017.
The BJP-led alliance, which won 325 seats with a 41.4% vote share in 2017, is projected to bag 40.4% vote share, according to the December survey.
The Samajwadi Party, BSP, and Congress, respectively, are projected to get 33.6%, 13.2%, and 7.3.% vote share.

The BJP, in such a scenario, will win around 58.4% votes, while the Samajwadi Party, BSP and Congress will get 46.7%, 54.2% and 55.6%, votes respectively.
Q. If farmer leaders join a party and contest elections, how much will that party benefit?
The ruling BJP will bag 71% votes, while the Samajwadi Party, BSP and Congress will get 75.6%, 73% and 62.9% votes respectively.
Q. Expressways got better during the tenure of Yogi Adityanath or Akhilesh Yadav?
51.8% of voters, as per the poll, express confidence in the BJP believing the expressways got better during Adityanath’s tenure, while 27.9%, 31.6% and 42% voters extend their support to the Samajwadi Party, BSP, and Congress.
Q. Do you think Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken the right step by withdrawing the agriculture laws?
51.80% of voters stand by the BJP-led NDA backing this decision, while 32.60% voters are of the view that the ruling dispensation at the Centre should have tried to explain the benefits of the agriculture laws instead of withdrawing them.
52.80% of Opposition voters, however, differ with the BJP-led government on this issue, while 29.40% voters believe the agriculture laws’ benefits should have been explained instead of withdrawing them.
Q. Will BJP lose or benefit from the decision to withdraw farm bills?
70.6% of voters are of the view that the BJP will benefit, while another 29.4% voters disagree.
Q. Do you think the inauguration of the Purvanchal Expressway will benefit the BJP in the elections?
Around 67.3% voters are of the view that the BJP will benefit from this, while 32.7% of voters replied in the negative.
