ABP News airs Virat Kohli's clean India effort, PM Modi lauds Test skipper

NEW DELHI: Prime minister Narendra Modi lauded India's Test skipper Virat Kohli's clean India effort that ABP News aired on Friday. Supporting PM Modi's clean Indian drive (Swachh Bharat Abhiyan), Kohli was seen picking up waste bottles from the ground at Holkar stadium in Indore after practice session. "Dear @imVkohli, saw your #MyCleanIndia moment on @abpnewstv. A small but powerful gesture that will surely inspire everyone," PM Modi Tweeted. In his reply, Kohli thanked PM Modi and said, "We all are trying to make a difference for the betterment of our country. Led in an inspirational way by you." Last month, PM Modi praised ABP news for its drive to spread awareness on cleanliness and people’s participation. “A commendable initiative by @abpnewstv to spread awareness on cleanliness & people’s participation”, PM Modi had tweeted.   PM Modi had appealed to the masses to make short films under Clean India Campaign. He had also appealed TV channels to come forward. ABP News came forward and invited short films from citizens on cleanliness. Modi launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or Clean India Campaign on 2nd October 2014. “It is the task of every citizen of this country to keep it clean. It is a tough task but we have till 2 October, 2019 to complete it," the PM had said.
