‘They Found Nothing’: AAP's Durgesh Pathak On CBI Raid At Home, Says Team Took Away 'Aadhaar Photocopies' Of People He Met

CBI raided AAP leader Durgesh Pathak’s house over alleged FCRA violations. After a 3-4 hour search, Pathak said nothing was found except photocopies of Aadhaar cards.

Aam Aadmi Party Leader Durgesh Pathak’s house was raided by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday. Following this, he said that the CBI “found nothing” while speaking to the media.

He said, “They thoroughly searched every corner of my two-room home for three to four hours, even checking the bedsheets and cupboards—but found nothing.”

He said that before leaving, the team took “around 15 to 20 photocopies of Aadhaar cards”, which he said belonged to people who visit his house for work-related purposes.

The raids followed the registration of a case by the CBI against Pathak for allegedly violating the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA). The case was officially filed on April 16.

He said that the CBI said that they had a search warrant, but he didn’t understand why the team came to his house or what the case was about. Despite this, he fully cooperated and provided any information or document they requested.

Regarding FCRA and foreign donations, “they never mentioned anything of the sort—that’s something you all are saying”, Pathak claimed.

The raid comes after Durgesh Pathak was appointed the co-incharge of Gujarat, along with Gopal Rai last month. Notably, the local polls will be due in Gujarat next year and the assembly elections will be held in 2027. The AAP alleged that it was due to this responsibility of Gujarat that Pathak was targeted by the BJP through the CBI.

Ahead of the raid, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said that the BJP's “dirty game” had started again. “The CBI has reached the house of Gujarat's co-incharge, Durgesh Pathak. The Modi government has tried every trick to destroy the Aam Aadmi Party, but they are still not at peace”.
