AAP, Congress to join hands ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha polls to counter BJP?
Mishra alleged that they are likely to come together and form an alliance and that Arvind Kejriwal went to meet Rahul Gandhi for the same.
New Delhi: With only months left for the forthcoming 2019 Lok Sabha polls, political parties have begun their strategies, alliance formations and preparations.
In a latest, former Aam Aadmi Party minister Kapil Mishra, who has lately made several allegations against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has now alleged that AAP is trying to shake hands with Congress ahead of 2019 polls, in order to washout BJP.
Mishra further alleged that they are likely to come together and form an alliance, and that Arvind Kejriwal went to meet Rahul Gandhi for the same.
Though the claims have been denied by AAP MLAs and no official statement has come from Congress so far, It is interesting to note that Kejriwal came to power in Delhi by consistently attacking Congress and BJP. Also, time and again he had listed out the number of scams that both the parties have been allegedly a part of, therefore if the alliance formation actually happens; it could be Kejriwal’s biggest political move.
Reacting to reports of the AAP-Congress alliance, the Delhi BJP said that it was undeterred by such a move.
Reports of the Congress-AAP alliance neither "surprises us nor distracts us," Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari said.
"The tweets of leaders of the two parties in this context are a game plan towards creating a political atmosphere for a coalition. It will be an immoral coalition with a motive to mislead the people of Delhi."
There were claims and counter-claims by the leaders of the AAP and the Congress over a possible seat-sharing arrangement for the Lok Sabha polls.
"On 'so called' offer of AAP to Congress for 3 seats, look at my reply to (Arvind) Kejriwal," tweeted Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee chief Ajay Maken. You may now apologise to @KapilSibal, @PawanKhera & @SheilaDikshit or rope in @PChidambaram_IN or praise Dr ManmohanSingh

"When the people of Delhi are continuously rejecting the Kejriwal government, why should we come to their rescue? After all, Kejriwal with team Anna supported by RSS, helped in creating this monster of Modi," he said. Reacting to Maken's tweet, AAP spokesperson Dilip Pandey said it was the Congress that had approached the AAP and not the other way around. On “so called” offer of AAP to Congress for 3 seats, look at my reply to Kejriwal!

Congress allies with JDS for Lok Sabha polls: Ten days after coming to power, the JDS-Congress ministry in Karnataka is set to be expanded on June 6, as the two parties reached a power sharing arrangement after intense haggling and announced their decision to fight the Lok Sabha polls as pre-poll allies..@ajaymaken जी!
