AAP's Raghav Chadha Says, 'I Don't Take Him Seriously' After Sidhu's Protest Outside Kejriwal's Residence
This comment, came after Congress leader too sat on the dharna with the teachers. The guest teachers of the Delhi government were protesting and demanding the regularisation of their jobs.
New Delhi: Demanding job security several guest teachers sat in a dharna on Sunday outside Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's house, they were joined by Punjabi Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu. Commenting on this, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA and spokesperson Raghav Chadha said that he does not take the Congress leader seriously.
Asked about Sidhu's dharna outside Kejriwal's residence, Chadha told ANI, "Earlier also, I said that Sidhu is Rakhi Sawant of Punjab politics. He knows how to do drama. There is no need for serious discussion on him. It is also useless to make statements on him and I do not take him seriously."
This comment, came after Congress leader too sat on the dharna with the teachers. The guest teachers of the Delhi government were protesting and demanding the regularisation of their jobs.
While addressing media persons, Sidhu said, "22,000 guest teachers are working as bonded labourers here."
Further, Chadha said that Punjab Education Minister ran away when Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia invited him for a debate on the condition of the education system in Punjab and Delhi.
"When our Education Minister Manish Sisodia invited Punjab Education Minister for debate on education condition, then he ran away," he said.
Slamming Punjab Congress over their internal issues, Chadha said, "We have nothing to do with the internal problems of Punjab Congress. The party is becoming an irrelevant force in Punjab today. There is no political dominance left. They are fighting among themselves only."
"Congress itself is the Opposition of its own party," Chadha added.
Guest Teachers Sit-In
Several contractual teachers who work in Delhi government school sat in protest outside Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's Civil Lines home raising the demand for a policy that offers them job security again.
According to the protesting teachers, this decision to re-ignited this long-standing demand came after Kejriwal joined a protest by guest teachers in Punjab late last month and promised they would be regularised if the AAP is brought to power there.
