2 foreign militants killed in gunfight in north Kashmir

Srinagar: After hours of gunning down foreign militants in north Kashmir's Bandipora on Tuesday morning, several shocking details have emerged.  It has now been found that the terrorist had Rs 15,000 in Indian currency, of which two were new notes of Rs 2000, and rest were hundred rupee notes.  2 foreign militants killed in gunfight in north Kashmir Following specific information about militant presence in Bonikhan village, troops of the 13 Rashtriya Rifles and the special operations group (SOG) of the state police launched the operation, the police said. As the surrounding troops closed in on the hiding militants, they opened fire triggering the encounter. "The militants were engaged in a sustained gunfight till two of them were killed," said a senior police officer. "Both the slain militants were believed to be of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit. However, their exact identities were being established," he said.
