YouTuber To Security Guard: 11 Under Scanner For ‘Sharing Sensitive Info’ With Pakistani Agents

Over 10 individuals are under the scanner across states for allegedly spying for Pakistan. Suspects include YouTubers, a security guard, and a vendor, accused of sharing sensitive information and military details.

In the aftermath of the 22 April terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, Indian intelligence and security agencies have been on high alert. After “Operation Sindoor” and India-Pakistan conflict, over 10 individuals are under the scanner, accused of spying for Pakistan. These individuals were allegedly involved in sharing sensitive information with Pakistani handlers. Authorities are also investigating other suspects whose links to Pakistan are being examined.

In Punjab, two alleged spies—Ghazala and Yameen Mohammad—were arrested by Malerkotla Police. Investigations revealed that both were in contact with Danish, an official at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi. They reportedly visited him for visa-related matters, and Danish had also transferred money to their mobile accounts online.

On 14 May, Noman Ilahi was arrested by Punjab Police from Haryana. A resident of Kairana village and employed as a security guard in Panipat, he is accused of sharing sensitive information with Pakistani agents. He remains in custody for interrogation.

Devinder Singh Dhillon from Kaithal, Haryana, was also arrested for allegedly providing information about India’s military operations and troop movements. He reportedly admitted to visiting Kartarpur Sahib, Nankana Sahib, Lahore, and Panja Sahib in Pakistan, during which he came into contact with ISI operatives. According to NDTV, the 25-year-old is a student of political science at Khalsa College in Patiala. He was arrested on May 12 in Haryana's Kaithal for uploading photos of a pistol and guns on Facebook.

During a visit to Pakistan last November, he had allegedly. shared sensitive information with the officers of the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) spy agency, including pictures of the Patiala military cantonment

YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra was arrested by Hisar Police for allegedly spying for Pakistan. She was reportedly in contact with Danish from the Pakistan High Commission, who was expelled by the Indian government on 13 May. A travel blogger, Jyoti visited Pakistan three times since 2023 and had posted multiple videos about her trips. She was allegedly in constant contact with Pakistani agents and is accused of sharing intel. She has been remanded to five-day police custody for interrogation.

Investigators are also questioning Puri-based YouTuber Priyanka Senapati, who met Jyoti during the latter’s visit to Puri in September 2024. Authorities are probing whether Priyanka was aware of Jyoti’s alleged activities or if she herself shared any information.

YouTuber Navankur Chaudhary is also under the scanner for suspected espionage. However, he has denied all allegations and the investigation is ongoing.

In Haryana’s Nuh district, Arman was arrested from Rajaka village under Nagina police station. He is accused of sending military-related information to Pakistan via WhatsApp. A case under sedition-related provisions has been registered against him, and interrogation is ongoing.

The second suspect to be taken into custody from Nuh, Haryana, was Tarif. Two days after Arman's capture, he was taken from the Kangarka village in the Tawadu subdivision. According to NDTV, officers claimed that he attempted to delete some conversations on his phone. Some information from Pakistani WhatsApp numbers was also allegedly erased from his phone.

In Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur district, a vendor named Shahzad was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) from Moradabad on Sunday. Authorities allege he passed on sensitive national security information to his handlers and was also involved in cross-border smuggling of clothes and spices. He had reportedly travelled to Pakistan several times and helped send people there for spying.

Separately, Mohammad Murtaza Ali was arrested by Gujarat Police during a raid in Jalandhar. Based on intelligence inputs, four mobile phones and three SIM cards were recovered from his possession. He is accused of spying for Pakistan’s ISI.

The arrests have triggered widespread investigations as security agencies continue to track links and uncover the full extent of espionage activities across states.
