10 BJP MPs, Who Won Assembly Polls, Resign From Parliament Membership

Ten BJP MPs, who won the recently held assembly elections in MP, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, have resigned from their parliament membership.

Ten Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) MPs who won the recently held assembly elections have now resigned from their Membership of the Parliament. According to ANI, the decision was taken after a meeting with BJP national president JP Nadda and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The MPs are Narendra Singh Tomar, Prahlad Singh Patel, Rakesh Singh, Uday Pratap and Riti Pathak who won the polls in Madhya Pradesh.

Arun Sao and Gomati Sai also resigned as MPs after winning elections in Chhattisgarh and Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Diya Kumari and Kirodi Lal Meena, who won the elections, from Rajasthan. Two other MPs Baba Balaknath and Renuka Singh did not come today. Nadda led the delegation of these MPs during the meeting with the PM, Lok Sabha Speaker and Rajya Sabha Chairman.

"After meeting BJP president JP Nadda, I have resigned as Lok Sabha MP. Soon, I will also resign from the Cabinet," BJP leader and Union Minister Prahlad Patel, who won the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections from Narsingpur, said.

The BJP won three out of four states it fought in on full seats. It ousted Congress from power in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh and retained Madhya Pradesh with a big margin. Whereas, Congress could only manage to remove Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) from Telangana.

Congress has decided to make Telangana party chief Revanth Reddy the chief minister of the state, while the BJP is yet to come up with the final names of the CMs in the three states it won. Reports suggest that Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan may not be made the CM again as he could be asked to be part of politics directly from Delhi.
