Independence day: 1100 meter long national flag unfurled in Surat

The flag was held by hundreds of people in the middle of the road, who stood on both the sides of the flag.

New Delhi: The 72nd Independence Day was celebrated with much fervor across the country, but people in Gujarat’s Surat had a rare site to watch on Wednesday morning. A 1100 metre long tricolor was unfurled in Surat to celebrate the independence day. The flag was held by hundreds of people in the middle of the road, who stood on both the sides of the flag. Leaders from various hoisted national flag in their gardens and outside their houses.
