Vitara Brezza’s Top Spot Under Threat: Vitara Brezza’s sales have gone down in May 2019, registering a negative MoM growth of more than 25 per cent. The main reason behind this has been the Hyundai Venue. What remains to be seen is if the numbers will continue to drop or this was a one-month affair. Hyundai Venue Breathing Down Brezza’s Neck: The Venue as an overall package has impressed SUV buyers and people who would have originally gone for the Vitara Brezza have chosen to pick the Venue instead. What remains to be seen is if the Venue can maintain this trajectory going ahead or not. Mahindra XUV300 Builds On Its Impressive Numbers: The XUV300 has been doing well since the time it was launched in India. Now it has managed to enter the 5,000 unit club despite competing with the likes of Vitara Brezza and Venue. Tata Nexon Numbers Still Where They Were: Newcomers in the segment have pushed the Nexon down the table. However, the Tata SUV has still maintained its numbers. The Nexon’s attractive pricing is getting customers to flock to Tata showrooms despite newer options in the segment. Ford EcoSport Consistent In Its Numbers: The EcoSport was the original SUV in this segment but it has been pushed down the charts with newer entrants taking over the top spots. However, Ford continues to sell 3,000+ units of the EcoSport every month. It also recently got a price cut and the Thunder edition was added to the lineup as well. Mahindra TUV300 Records MoM Growth: The TUV300 is the odd one out in the segment. But it still recorded positive growth of more than 10 per cent compared to April 2019. Mahindra sells in between 1,000-1,500 units of the TUV300 every month.
