Hyundai i20 sells 10 lakh units worldwide

New Delhi: Hyundai's premium hatchback, the i20 has clocked 1 million sales across the globe. The figure includes sales of the original i20, the Elite i20 and the i20 Active as well. Notably, the vehicle was first introduced in 2008 and is built in India for international markets. The Elite i20 has dominated the B-segment landscape in India. The Indian Car Of The Year (ICOTY) for 2015, the Hyundai has caught the fancy of a large set of buyers thanks to the styling and features on offer. Commenting on the achievement, Y.K. Here's a quick glance at the figures Hyundai has clocked over the past eight years: Only a small fraction of the original i20's production was earmarked for India, saving the most for exports. However, the demand from the domestic market exceeded the Korean automaker's expectation. Hyundai duly met the increased demand, and the rest is history!
